Laboratory relocation
Research, pharma and QC labs. We move instruments, refrigeration and reagents while preserving the cold chain and calibration.
A laboratory move is one of the most complex B2B projects: it combines sensitive instruments, controlled temperature, chemicals and continuity of accreditation. ELP Baltics plans these projects in phases, with anti-vibration equipment for instruments, cold-chain logistics for reagents and manufacturer-service coordination for calibration. We work with research institutes, pharma QC, food and industrial testing labs — from a single room to a whole floor.
What we move in a lab
Standard project — one lab or department, 2–5 working days. Everything is documented for accreditation continuity.
Analytical instruments
Chromatographs (HPLC, GC), spectrometers, analysers. Moved on anti-vibration platforms with manufacturer-service coordination.
Microscopy and optics
Light and electron microscopes, optical benches. Custom packed with humidity control.
Refrigeration
Freezers (-20 / -80 °C), reagent fridges, cryogenic vessels. Transported with temperature monitoring.
Reagents and samples
Cold-chain logistics with dry ice or climate transport. Hazardous materials via ADR partners.
Lab furniture
Fume hoods, resistant-top benches, preparation of gas and water connections at the new site.
Heavy equipment (Zonzini)
Centrifuges, autoclaves, heavy freezers up the stairs — Zonzini Domino Lift robot up to 800 kg.
Calibration
We coordinate manufacturer-service calibration after the move so measurement traceability and accreditation are preserved.
Confidentiality
Team NDA, protection of samples and intellectual property, acceptance reports for each stage.
Five stages for a laboratory move
- 01
Inquiry and equipment audit
Send the instrument and reagent list. We assess cold-chain and chemical requirements. We reply within 24 hours.
- 02
Survey and risk plan
A coordinator aligns the calibration schedule, reagent logistics and phasing with your lab manager.
- 03
Quote
Within 72 hours — fixed offer with schedule, insurance, cold-chain and service coordination.
- 04
Phased move
Instruments, refrigeration and reagents move in separate streams, with temperature and vibration control.
- 05
Calibration and commissioning
Manufacturer service performs calibration, acceptance reports are signed, accreditation continuity is restored.
Indicative laboratory relocation prices
Final price depends on instrument sensitivity, reagent volume and calibration needs.
| Lab type | Team | Duration | Indicative price (excl. VAT) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single room / small QC | 4–5 people + truck | 1–2 days | from €2 200 |
| Medium research lab | 5–8 people + 2 vehicles | 2–3 days | from €4 200 |
| Pharma / accredited QC | 6–10 people + 2–3 vehicles | 3–5 days | from €6 500 |
| Research institute / floor | Per project | Per schedule | custom quote |
* Prices cover packing, anti-vibration transport up to 30 km and rebuild. Cold chain, ADR transport and manufacturer calibration are separate lines per project.
How a lab move differs
A lab differs from an office because what moves is not equipment but the ability to take accurate measurements. After the move an instrument must show the same results, so the critical factors are anti-vibration logistics and calibration. We plan the route and packing to minimise shocks and coordinate manufacturer service for calibration.
The second difference is the cold chain and chemicals. Reagents and samples are moved separately, with temperature monitoring, while hazardous materials go via ADR-certified partners.
Accreditation continuity
For accredited labs it is essential to preserve measurement traceability. We document every stage with acceptance reports and calibration protocols so a post-move audit passes smoothly.
Hazardous materials
Chemicals and gas cylinders are transported via ADR-certified partners, with the appropriate documentation and safety measures.
